This year, PASI students made an interactive exhibit on the new Large Hadron Collider (LHC) particle accelerator at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. In the exhibit there is information about the theory behind the massive accelerator. You can also find exhibits about particle physics and the elusive Higgs boson, the entity that some physicists call the "God Particle".

LHC
The LHC is a particle accelerator that creates proton-proton collisions. It was built in the tunnel of the LEP or "Large Electron-Positron Collider" which was shut down in 2000. When it opens in 2008, it will be the most powerful particle accelerator in existence. Physicists hope that it will create the Higgs boson, since its existence cannot be proved until it has been detected.
